OSRS DPS calculator — max hit and accuracy
Calculate your exact damage per second, max hit and accuracy against any monster in Old School RuneScape, for melee, ranged and magic. Pick your gear, prayers, potions and target and the calculator uses the game's real combat formulas — the same integer maths the wiki calculator uses — to the exact truncation.
How OSRS DPS is calculated
DPS combines three things: your max hit (from effective Strength/Ranged/Magic and your strength bonus), your accuracy (your attack roll versus the monster's defence roll), and your weapon's attack speed. RuneTools applies prayers, potions, the void and gear set bonuses, elemental weakness and special weapons (Twisted bow, Osmumten's fang, Scythe, powered staves and enchanted bolts) exactly as the game does.
Frequently asked questions
How is max hit calculated in OSRS?
From your effective Strength (or Ranged/Magic) level after prayers and potions, plus your equipment's strength bonus, run through the game's max-hit formula and any set or special-weapon multipliers.
What affects accuracy?
Your attack roll (effective attack level × equipment attack bonus) versus the monster's defence roll for the style you're attacking with. Higher attack bonus and lower target defence mean more of your hits land.
Does the DPS calculator account for gear set effects?
Yes — Void, Crystal armour, Obsidian, Inquisitor's, Dharok's, Salve amulet, Slayer helm and Dragon/demon-bane weapons are auto-detected from your equipped gear and applied.
