How this is worked out
- Built in: what can reach the target (halberds only for melee on Kree'arra, Zulrah and other flying bosses; no melee where it can't land, like the Kraken), each boss's damage caps, reductions and immunities (Corp, Zulrah, Verzik, Olm, Tekton, the Duke and more), and the bonuses the target's type turns on (salve, slayer helmet on task, dragon, demon and other banes).

The Leviathan gear setup: best in slot for every style

Below a fifth of its hitpoints the Leviathan enrages and the abyssal pathfinder appears: standing in it, ranged never misses and hits for at least a fifth of its max, and magic deals double damage, so fast weapons such as the blowpipe win there (the Enraged (Pathfinder) phase). While it's stunned, hits on its front are capped at 10, but the wound on its back takes one big hit (ranged for about two thirds of its max or more, magic for double), so a hard single hit pays off. It takes a third less damage during each special attack.
